Clockwork bells

The St. Michael’s church bells have been chiming harmoniously again since 2008.

Incidentally, canons were made from church bells – but it’s also possible to make bells from canons. After the first fire in 1750, there were no church bells in the St. Michael’s tower. It was the Hamburg admirals of all people who soon donated two old bronze canons – and new bells were cast from them in the 18th century.
