Peter Sun Ki Kim is choir director of the Kantorei St. Michaelis.

Peter Sun Ki Kim comes from South Korea and Australia. Born into a musical family, he received his first music lessons from his parents, who were both church musicians. After completing his bachelor's degree at the University of Sydney (Conservatorium of Music) with a major in piano under Prof. Daniel Herscovitch, he came to Germany to further develop his musical skills.

In 2015, Peter Sun Ki Kim began studying church music at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg. After completing his bachelor's degree, he has been continuing his studies in the master's programme in church music since October 2019 (choir conducting with Prof. Annedore Hacker-Jakobi, organ with Prof. Wolfgang Zerer).

From March 2020 to December 2022, he worked as a musical assistant at St. Jacobi Church in Hamburg.
Since January 2023, he has been cantor at Christuskirche Othmarschen.

He has been conducting the Kantorei St. Michaelis since October 2021.
