Jörg Endebrock - Cantor and Organist
Born in Osnabrück in 1970, Jörg Endebrock studied Evangelical Church Music (A) in Hamburg and the organ under Susan Landale in Paris with a German Academic Exchange Service scholarship and, ultimately, completing his postgraduate course in 1999 with Prix d’éxcellence and prix de virtuosité avec félicitations.
He took part in a variety of international organ competitions, winning second prize and the Tournemire Award in Haarlem as well as the award for the best interpretation of new music in Paris. During his studies, he had the opportunity to gain valuable experience in prestigious choirs, such as, NDR Chor. He held the position of cantor at the Christuskirche Freiburg between 1999 and 2008 and was in charge of the varied music programme at the Lutherkirche Wiesbaden along with the Wiesbaden Bach Choir between 2008 and 2019. In 2015, he founded the Wiesbaden Evangelical Singing Academy on the basis of the Bach Choir’s work with young people, with around 300 children and teens rehearsing weekly.
Since January 2020, Jörg Endebrock is cantor and organist at St. Michael’s in Hamburg. Together with Manuel Gera, he is responsible for the music in services and concerts.
As a concert organist, he gives a great many concerts in Germany and its neighbouring European countries. His artistic contributions also include CDs and radio recordings with NDR, SWR and Radio France.
